Course Overview

1. Learn how to effectively communicate with your patient about rubber dam isolation. 2. Understand the importance of correct equipment and material choice. 3. Learn how to place “everyday dam” in a variant of different scenarios and situations. 4. Become familiar with techniques such as split dam and “Superman” dam. 5. Understand when and how to use accessory clamps, ligatures and PTFE for retraction. 6. Learn how to tackle more complex scenarios such as deep margins and veneer fits.

Meet Dr Celine Higton

Céline studied dentistry at King’s College London, graduating with honours. After qualifying she quickly became a familiar name on the UK and international lecturing circuit having lectured for the Seattle Study Club, AACD, BACD, ITI, UPenn and IDA to name a few. As a keen advocate for minimally invasive and adhesive approaches to restorative dentistry, Céline is a member of Bio- Emulation, a group that champions these principles. She is a leading educator in the field of rubber dam and believes that it should be considered as the foundation stone of all modern adhesive dentistry protocols and techniques.

08.30 – Arrival and Coffee/Tea

09.00 – 11.00 – Course Start – Session 1 – Lecture (2 hours)

11.00 – 11.15 – Refreshments

11.15 – 13.00 – Hands-on workshop (1.75 hours)

13.00 – 14.00 – Lunch

14.00 – 15.30 – Lecture (1.5 hours)

15.30 – 15.45 – Refreshments

15.45 – 17.30 – Hands-on workshop (1.75 hours)

Aims, Objectives and Learning Content of the course or event:

Become proficient at placing rubber dam isolation to create a working environment that is reproducible, predictable, and patient friendly. Learn a multitude of different techniques and methods to isolate even the most challenging of cases including posterior quadrants, onlay and crown preparations, veneer preparations, deep margins, split dam and much more.
